Memorial service to honor Ayat al-Hakim held in Canada By: Mohamed Ali WINDSOR, Canada: Marking the martyrdom of Iraqi leader Ayatullah Sayed Muhammad Baqir Al-Hakim, hundreds of people gathered at Windsor Mosque last week. Visitors from as far away as London, Hamilton and Detroit were in the midst of the memorial service on the second floor of the building when Windsor police interrupted the service with news that there might be an explosive device inside. Windsor Police Sgt. John Severin said police received word of the bomb from a caller on a pay phone not far from the mosque. Although no bomb was found inside, the memorial service continued on the lawn out front of a brick recreational complex that operates as part of the Imam Hussain Foundation. The three-hour service, which featured readings from the Qur'an, prayers, a video and speeches, paid rich tributes to Ayatullah Baqir Al-Hakim who was martyred in a car bomb attack outside the holy shrine of Hazrat Ali (p) in the holy city of Najaf late last August.
