Martyrdom of Imam Sadeq (p) marked in his grandfather city

HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: Like other global parts, the martyrdom anniversary of Al-Imam Ja’far bin Muhammad As-Sadeq (peace be upon him) was observed in the city of his grandfather Al-Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon him) – Holy Karbala – on 25 Shawal.

Marking the occasion, Husseini processions marched through the streets of Holy Karbala attended by large number of mourners who were beating their heads, chests and backs in mourning, with drums’ mourning beat making the environment further sad. The processions culminated at the holy Husseiniyah and Abbasiyah shrines.

The holy mausoleums of Al-Imam Al-Hussein and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them) were crammed with mourners gathered there to offer them condolences marking the day of grief.

In mosques and husseiniyat as well, the majales al-azaa were held organized by different organizations. Speakers and scholars threw light on the holy life of the sixth infallible descendant of holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him & his pure progeny), Al-Imam As-Sadeq (peace be upon him). They also described Imam (peace be upon him)’s sufferings, and prayed for Iraq’s safety and integrity.
