Karbala holds mourning programs marking Zol-Hijjah 7 By: Ismail Zabeeh
HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: Marking the martyrdom anniversary on Zol-Hijjah 7 of Mofajjiratul Uloom wal Ma’aref, or the one who split open sciences and knowledge, Al-Imam Muhammad bin Ali Al-Baqer (p), Iraq witnessed grand mourning programs. Besides gathering at the Shrines of Imam Ali (p) in the holy city of Najaf, Imam Al-Kazem (p) and Imam Al-Jawwad (p) in Kazmain Sharifain and Imamain Askariyain (p) in the holy city of Samra, thousands of mourners converged on the holy city of Karbala that houses the holy mausoleums of Imam Hosain (p) and Hazret Abbas (p).
Chanting ‘Ya Hosain (p)’ and pounding chests and heads, black-dressed mourners from different cities of the country and various parts of the world offered their condolences on the martyrdom of Imam Al-Baqer (p) to Imam Al-Hosain (p) and Hazret Abbas (p).
Imam Zainol Abidin (p) was the first to hold mourning meeting marking the martyrdom of his father Chief of Martyrs Al-Imam Hosain (p), and following whom today mourning gatherings are organized in every nook and corner of the world. Meanwhile, special arrangements of water, meals and housing are provided to facilitate the visitors of Imam Hosain (p) in the holy city after the ouster of Saddam regime as was the practice. END |
