Mourning programs persist across Bahrain By: Ali Al-Qadumi HAMD, Bahrain: Commemoration of al-Imam al-Hussain (AS)’s incomparable sacrifice rendered in the burning desert of Karbala some 1400 years ago for the sake of Islam has been taking place since 400 years in Bahrain.
Currently Bahrain is ground for at least 3,500 Hussainiyaat for men and more than this for women. Black mourning banners and flags of al-Abbas bin Ali (AS) are hanging in mosques and hussainiyaat as well as streets. Thousands of mourners daily attend the daylong mourning gatherings to extend their condolences in the holy court of Prophet Muhammad (SAV).
Processions are also scheduled to be taken out from mosques and hussainiyaat across the country.
Mourning gatherings are being organized at Masjid Fatimah-tuz-Zahra (SA), Hamd, Maatam bin Sallum Manama, Maatam Al-Imam Al-Baqer (AS) Bouri, Maatam Ad-Darah, Maatam As-Samamik Manama, Hussainiyah Al-Qassab Manama, Maatam Al-Haaj Ali Al-Mulla Sanad, Maatam Raas Ar-Rumman, Hussainiyah Al-Haaj Ahmed bin Khamis, Masjid Al-Momin, Maatam Al-Ajam Al-Kabir, Hussainiyah bin Zubr, Maatam bin Zubr, Maatam Al-Imam Ali (AS), Maatam Ithni Ashariyah, Maatam Medina Eisa, Maatam As-Sanabas, Maatam Ash-Shaheed and many others where speakers pay rich homage to the Martyrs of Karbala by highlighting the philosophy of Karbala and describing in detail the musibah of Ahlul Bayt (AS).
