Husseini commemoration on peak in Oman

MUSCAT, Oman: The great sacrifice, which is incomparable, presented by al-Imam al-Hussein (p) along with his 72 companions in the desert of Karbala is being commemorated in Oman like other global parts.

Multitudes of mourners attend daily majales azaiyah that are held in all mosques and husseinyaat of the country to pay rich homage to the martyrs of Karbala.

Speakers in their speeches describe the objectives for which the grandson of holy Prophet Muhammad (p) migrated from the holy city of Medina to Mecca and then to Iraq. Al-Imam al-Hussein (p) himself told the objective of his qayam saying “…My objective is to correct the Ummah of my Grandfather Prophet Muhammad (p)…”

Renowned husseini speaker Sheikh Abdur Reza Ma’ash addresses daily majalis at Maatam al-Imam al-Hussein bin Ali in Muscat while prominent dirge-chanter al-Mulla Nazzar al-Qatari recites dirges. The majalis will continue till the end of Muharram at the Maatam.
