Chain of Majalis continue as Islamabad Muharram Committee meets By: Salman Alvi ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Muharram Committee of Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya District Islamabad’s members met in the District Control Room. Convener Syed Nazakat Hussain Shah presided over the meeting that took stock of the Azadari programmes, Majalis-e-Aza and Matmi processions being held throughout the district during Ashra-e-Muharram in detail. While terming the arrangements satisfactory, they appealed all organisers of Majalis and Azadaran Mazloom-e-Karbala to present ‘Pursa’ to Imam Aali Muqam (A.S.) by following the Code of Azadari announced by Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, in letter and spirit. A resolution unanimously adopted on the occasion said that Muharram Azadari Cells have been formed by the Central Muharram Committee of Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan to actively coordinate with the government during Muharram but, the resolution lamented, Muharram Cells have not yet been set up in Federal Capital and provinces at government level so as to resolve the Azadari problems as a result of which difficulties are being faced in connection with Azadari and lower echelon of Administration at some places were harassing Azadars on different counts. Another resolution said Azadari should be given preference over all other matters during the Ayyam-e-Aza and every conspiracy of enemies of Islam and Pakistan should be thwarted through the display of mutual understanding and brotherhood. The resolution demanded from the government to take immediate notice of the activities of restricted groups working with new names and initiate probe and departmental action against those government officials who were encouraging them. Moreover, it said the government and the opposition should avoid making these restricted groups sit along side them as this practice of their was becoming the source of strength for terrorists. Meanwhile, Majalis of Ashra-e-Muharram were continued on the fifth day of Muharram-ul-Haram throughout Pakistan to commemorate the matchless and unparallel sacrifice of Syed-ush-Shuhada Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS).
