Kuwaitis mourn over Karbala tragedy

KUWAIT CITY: Throughout the world, the month of Muharram stands as a reminder to mankind for the heroic struggle and martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), the grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), against the corruption and destruction of human rights by a tyrant ruler, Yazid, son of Muawiya.

To commemorate the martyrdom of the benefactor of mankind with his seventy-two rightly guided followers, hussaini mourning gatherings and processions are in continuation in which flocks of mourners participate and thus by performing chest and head pounding, shedding tears and reciting elegies pay rich homage to the Karbala Martyrs.

As-Sayyid Hassan Al-Kashmiri addresses majalis azaiyah at hussainiyah Abder Rahim Al-Hamd. Addressing the 6th Muharram majlis, he said the chief of martyrs whose martyrdom we are observing during this month is he who was brought up by the seal and chief of Prophets (peace be upon him).

In Diwan Al-Baloch Al-Jabariyah, Ash-Sheikh Hussain Al-Matok addresses daily majalis while Sheikh Baqer Al-Moqaddesi addresses at hussainiyah Ash-Shomali in Ad-Daiyah.

Majalis are being held in different mosques and hussainiyaat across the country including hussainiyah Al-Kadhmiyah, hussainiyah Rasul Al-Adham and hussainiyah Bu-Hamd.
