Ayat Tabatabai buried in Karbala

HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: Thousands of mourners on Friday attended the funeral of Ayatullah Sayyid Muhammad Hussein At-Tabatabai in the holy city of Karbala that is home to the holy shrines of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) and Hazrat Abbad (p).

The 80-year old Ayatullah, who spent all his life in promoting the pious mission of Ahlul Bayt (p) bearing hardships of detention at the hands of Saddam, was laid to rest in the Valley of Karbala.

People from all walks of life including religious scholars participated in his funeral.
