Israel threatens swift invasion of Damascus

TEL AVIV: A high-ranking Israeli army official has threatened to occupy Syrian capital city of Damascus as quickly as the occupation of Baghdad by the American forces, reports said Thursday.

The threat coincides approval of plans by an Israeli ministerial committee to double the number of settlers in the Golan Heights to tighten the Jewish state's grip over the plateau seized from Syria in the 1967 Middle East war.

The Israeli threat came on the tongue of Israeli Colonel Eibal Ghlaadi while he was addressing at Tel Aviv University. He said that this time if Israel would fight with Syria then “our target will be change of map of the region.”
