Pals warn of plot on Aqsa mosque after 3 mosques sacrilege By: Ahmed Hammadi NABLUS, West Bank: Palestinians have warned of a plot by Jewish extremists to storm Al-Aqsa mosque, according to reports on Monday, after the Israeli forces desecrated two mosques in Nablus city in the occupied territories through blasting their gates and breaking up walls. The two mosques named Al-Baik Mosque on An-Nasr Street and Al-Salahi grand Mosque in the eastern market place in the West Bank town of Nablus were desecrated on Wednesday June 16, 2004. Several Palestinian civilians living in the area were injured in the criminal acts. The Israeli occupation forces stormed into the mosques and searched the entire interior areas and desecrated copies of the Holy Quran, local people said. Israeli troops also damaged the Saint Dimitros Church and about 2-dozen shops in the area on the same day. On May 24, 2004, Ali Ben Abi Taleb (pbuh) Mosque in Tell As-Sultan at the Rafah refugee camp in the southern Gaza Strip was desecrated when an Israeli helicopter fired missiles on it leaving four Palestinians martyred inside the mosque, witnesses said.
