Marking of Layali Al-Fatimiyah (p) in Bahrain

MANAMA, Bahrain: Mourning programs to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Sayyedah Fatimah Az-Zahra (peace be upon her), beloved daughter of Seal of Prophets (peace be upon him & his pure progeny), were continued in different parts of Bahrain.

According to some traditions, 13th day of fifth month of Islamic calendar Jamady Al-Ola is the martyrdom anniversary of Mistress of Women of Paradise, spouse of Commander of Faithful and Chief of Testamentary Executors, and Mother of Chiefs of Youths of Paradise Fatimah Az-Zahra (peace be upon her) about whom the holy Prophet (peace be upon him & his pure progeny) said: “Fatimah is part of me, he who hurts her, hurts me”.

Different organizations and groups are holding 10-day mourning programs named as “Layali Al-Fatimiyah”, comprised of Majlis (mourning sitting), Latamiyat (dirges and chest beating) and Maedah (table of meal for mourners).

At Matam Al-Ahsaiyeen, Manama, As-Sayyed Hassan Al-Kashmiry addresses daily majalis that began from 5th of Jamady Al-Ola, 22 June, and continue for 10 constant nights.

Renowned speaker Sayyed Baqer Al-Faly addresses at Husseiniyah Al-Qassab for ten-night majalis while famous dirge-chanter Abu Bashir An-Najafy recites dirges. The Majalis will continue till the night of martyrdom anniversary of Sayyedah Az-Zahra (peace be upon her).
