Aqeelah Bani Hashim (p) B-day marked in Syria, Iran

By: Sultan Ahmed/ Sheikh M Khurasani

DAMASCUS/HOLY CITY OF MASH’HAD: The auspicious occasion of birth anniversary of Batla-e-Karbala, Aqeelah Bani Hashim Sayyedeh Zainab (p), grand daughter of holy prophet Muhammad (p) and daughter of Imam Ali (p) and Sayyedeh Fatimeh Az-Zahraa (p) was celebrated in Syria and Iran like other parts of the world with due respect.

In Iran, the holy shrines of Hazret Imam Ali bin Moussa Ar-Reza (p) and her sister Hazret Sayyedeh Fatimeh Al-Masoumeh (p) in the holy cities of Mash’had and Qom were thronged by devotees, lovers and followers of Ahlul Bayt (p). The visitors, by holding festive gatherings at the beautifully decorated shrines, offered their greetings to the holy family of Ahlul Bayt (p).

According to some traditions, Hazret Sayyedeh Zainab (p) was born in Medina on 5th of Jamady Al-Avval. Reports said that soon after her birth, the holy Prophet (p) came to the house of her beloved daughter Hazret Fatimeh (p), took the newborn child in his lap, embraced her, put his cheek on her cheek and wept bitterly. The Mistress of Women of Paradise Hazret Fatimeh (p) asked the reason. The Chief of Prophets (p) replied: O my daughter Fatimeh! This daughter will face great sufferings, he who will weep over her, will get reward as he will on weeping her brothers Imam Hassan (p) and Imam Hussein (p).

In Damascus, flocks of devotees from Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Iran, Lebanon, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf States visited the holy mausoleum of Hazret Zainab (p). Celebrations were held at the shrine as well as husseiniyaat and mosques and sweets were distributed to mark the happy occasion.

"Knowledge is better than wealth because it protects you while you have to guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."
