Imam Hussain (A)’s supreme sacrifice commemorated in US

WASHINGTON: First Ashra (10 days) of the month of Muharram concluded in the United States on Ashoura with majalis and coffin & Hazrat Abbas (AS)’ standards processions to commemorate the everlasting sacrifice in Karbala of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) along with his 72 companions, which was aimed at survival of Islam and human dignity.

Imambargahs, hussainiyaat, azakhanas, mosques and Islamic centers remained crammed with mourners, and orators highlighted the objective of Imam Hussain (AS)’s Qayam.

Majalis were held at Zainabia NJ, Mefil NJ, Bayt-ul-Qyem NJ, Astana Zehra NJ, Azakhana-e-Zahra in San Jose California, Imambargah-e-MASOM Chicago, Al-Ahad center Allentown PA, Jaffaria CT, Almany Jamaat, Masoomin VA, Zainabia Atlanta, Imam Alkhoi Islamic Cnter NY, Shah-e-Najaf NY, Markaz Ar-Rasoolil Azam Washington, Islamic Education Center of Houston Texas.

Moulana Syed Zafar Hussaini (India) addressed in Urdu at the Houston center while Farsi majalis were recited by Moulana Nasser Biria and English by Sami Hijazi. Sister’ Morning Majalis were addressed by Malka Yasmin. Allama Shamimul Hasan (India) addressed hussaini majalis at Jafaria Imambargah. Sakhawat hussain mandralvi addressed at hussaini imambargah Chicago. Allama Sayyed Hasan Al-Qazvini and Sheikh Ali Al-Aseeili Al-Amuli addressed majalis at Islamic Center, Detroit, Mich.

They spoke on the meaning of Ashoura, and objectives of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS)’s revolution throwing light on seerat of Imam (AS) and describing sufferings of Ahlul Bayt (AS).

Also the English majalis were held at different centers and hussainiyaat. One such series was held at Muslim Youth Association in Detroit, Mich. attended by large number of followers of Ahlul Bayt (AS) as well as non-muslims. Hassan Al-Qazvin addressed followed by Sayyid Hussain Al-Qazvini.
