Karbala marks Shabih-e-Rasol (A)'s martyrdom By: Ismail Zabeeh HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: The 8th day and 9th night of Muharram-ul-Haram is specified with the commemoration of the martyrdom of Prince Ali Al-Akbar bin Al-Hussain (AS), the first martyr of Ahlul Bayt (AS) in Karbala.
In this holy city of Karbala – home to the holy shrines of Al-Imam Al-Hussain (AS) and Hazrat Al-Abbas (AS) -, mourning sittings organized by different organizations were held and a number of mourning processions marching through the streets headed to the shrine of the Chief of Martyrs to offer him deep condolences on the martyrdom of his 18-year-old son Prince Ali Al-Akbar (AS). During the mourning sittings, speakers described in detail the martyrdom of Prince Ali Al-Akbar (AS). According to traditions from Ahlul Bayt (AS), Al-Imam Al-Hussain (AS) at the time of sending Ali Al-Akbar (AS) towards the plain of Karbala had said: “O Allah be witness now I am sending towards that people the ‘youth’ who is like your prophet (SW) in character and behavior, manners, conduct and demeanor.” END |
