OIC denounces Western campaign against Islam

DAKAR, Senegal: The Federation of Parliamentary Councils, an offshoot of the Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), has condemned the hostile campaign being carried out against Islam and the Muslim countries by the international media since September 11.

In a statement issued by the federation at the end of its two-day conference here, the conference took several decisions and passed a number of resolutions.

“Parliaments of Muslim countries must have a historic role in organizing dialogue among civilizations and, at the same time fighting the malicious campaign being carried out against Islam. They should exert all the efforts to present the true picture of Islam in the Western countries,” it said.

The conference condemned the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians and building of the wall in the occupied territories.
