Aza-e-Hussaini marking in Damascus

DAMASCUS, Syria: The matchless supreme sacrifice of Master of Martyrs Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) rendered some 1400 years ago in Karbala for the safety and protection of Islam and human dignity is also being commemorated in Syria like other global parts with reverence.

Mourning programs organized by different organizations held at mosques and hussainiyaat attended by throngs.

Tehreek Nafaz-e-Figh-e-Jafariya (Syria Branch) organized a 10-day mourning program at Hussainiyah Pakistania, Damascus – the city of Sharikatul Hussain Hazrat Sayedah Zaynab bint-e-Ali (SA).

Besides different religious scholars and speakers, Maskeen Ali Sargani addressed the majalis and highlighted the philosophy of Karbala.

On Ashoura, the tenth day of Muharram, a Zuljinah procession was taken out from the Hussainiyah. The participants performed Zanjir-Zani and Qama-Zani (striking back and head with razors and swords) paying rich homage to the Chief of Youth of Heaven (AS).

The procession culminated at the holy shrine of Hazrat Zaynab (SA).
