Israel inks $33m deal with India, martyrs 2 in Gaza air strike By: Irfan Malik, Ahmad Hammadi NEW DELHI/GAZA: Israel and India have entered into an agreement worth $33 million aimed at developing and delivering advanced avionics system for 200 “Dhurv”, the advanced military helicopters. According to reports the deal between Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) was signed last month. The advanced avionics system or the glass cockpit would have among others a comprehensive electronic warfare package, a day and night vision system, modern head up display and communication systems that will be specifically designed for the Indian armed forces. Separately in Gaza, Israel conducted a missile raid on Tuesday in a Gaza City neighborhood martyring at least two people, witnesses said. The air attack was launched hours after Israeli security cabinet decided on military retaliation for a double suicide bombing at an Israel’s Ashdod port, some 15 miles north of Gaza, on Sunday that killed 10 Israelis. The port bombing dealt a new blow to Israel's sense of security because Palestinian attackers managed to sneak out of the fenced-in Gaza Strip for the first time in more than three years of conflict.
