Kenya Jury chief calls for ending anti-Muslim policies By: Mohamed Ali MOMBASA, Kenya: Head of Sharia’ judges in Kenya Sheikh Hamad Muhammad Qassem has urged the government to stop its anti-Muslim policies. He was reacting to the government’s decision to appoint a government committee to look into the applications submitted by citizens of Arab origin for identity cards, passport and other travel documents. Qassem described the government decision as anti-constitutional and part of racial and sectarian discrimination against the Muslims. He stressed that the Muslims have the right to get the identity card and travel documents like any other citizens in the country. END |
