Arbaeen Hussaini approaching: Preparations in Britain By: Waq1 LONDON: Special arrangements are being made in Britain to lay commemorative programs marking Arbaeen-e-Hussaini, or the fortieth day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (A.S). The annual Arbaeen Procession will be held on Sunday 11th April 2004 (20th Safar 1425) at 1:30 pm at Marble Arch, Central London, Commencing with Azan Zuhr & collective prayer. Then there shall be Majalis (speeches) in English, Urdu, Arabic and Farsi (Persian), followed by a maatami procession along Park Lane commencing at 3pm. The Hussaini Islamic Trust UK, which was formed in 1982 with the encouragement of Sayed Mahdi Al-Hakeem (Shaheed) son of Agha Sayed Mohsin Al-Hakeem, has organized this event. The Trust founded the very first Muslim Jaloos (Procession) in Central London and the very first Arbaeen/Chehlum Jaloos of Imam Hussain (A.S) in the western world (USA & Europe). It has arranged to present two large Shabihs (replicas) of the shrines of Imam Hussain (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) which will accompany the mourning procession. After the recitation of ziarat Arbaeen (5pm), Khakh-e-Shifa Tasbih, Refreshments and an official CD of this year’s Ashura processions in Kazmain (6th Muharram), Najaf (7th Muharram) and Karbala (8th Muharram-Ashura 2004) will be distributed as tabarruk (hadiyah). This will include footage Azan Shab-e-Ashoor in Karbala, bomb explosions and Tatbir/Qammah matam. Photographs are available on request. All Men, Women and children are invited to share in this most important commemoration of Arbaeen.
