Iran: Hussaini commemoration on Muharram 9 continues

TEHRAN, Iran: Ya Hussain… Ya Hussain … Ya Abal Fazlel Abbas are being heard from across Iran as hussaini mourners offering their deep condolences to Imam Sahibul Asr, Imam of the era, (may Allah hasten his reappearance).

Majalis and processions marked with Zanjirzani and Seenazani continued on Monday Tasu’a Day to commemorate the great sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his seventy-two near and dear ones.

Muharram 9 is Tasu’a Day. It has been reported from Hazrat Imam Jafar As-Sadiq (AS) that Tasu’a is the day when army of Yazid (L) besieged Imam Hussain (AS) and His companions to fight against them.

Supreme Leader Ayatullah Ali Khamenei attended a majlis-e-aza held on Tasu’a Day at hussainiyah Ayatullah Khomeini (late), Tehran. Speakers and dirge-chanters highlighted the objectives of hussaini qayam.
