Imam Hussain (as) is source of freedom and guidance for oppressed, Moosavi’s You-e-Ashoora Message By: TNFJ Information Wing Brethren in Iman!
Prophets, Messengers, Aulia, and righteous people are those Representatives of Allah who spent all their energies for supremacy of religion, Shariah, and survival of humanity, remain confronted with oppression, suppression and brutality but no big or small Taghoot could neither divert them from the righteous path nor could bow them down. They always gave priority to death in honour over death for supremacy of righteousness. One of them is a great and innocent personality of grandson of Prophet (SAW), Shahzada-e-Konain, inheritor of Prophets, successor of Mustafa and Murtaza, Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) whose birth is commensurate with prophethood of Muhammad (SAW), courage of Hyder (A.S.), supremacy and piousness of Fatima Zahra (S.A.), he is the representative of human greatness, leader of the mankind, source and fountainhead of freedom, independence and guidance for the oppressed, deprived and the have-nots. He was born in Madinah Munawwarah on Sha’aban 3. The Holy Prophet (SAW) became happy on hearing the news of Imam Hussain’s (SAW) birth and came to Hazrat Fatima (S.A.). Asma (R.A.), the slave-girl of Hazrat Fatima (S.A.) brought the child wrapped in a white cloth before the Rasool (SAW). He took the child in his lap and rendered ‘Azan’ in his right ear and ‘Iqamah’ in the left. An angel came to the Rasool (SAW) on the seventh day after the birth of that child and said: Like Aaron (A.S.) was the brother, friend and sympathizer of Moses (A.S.), my Rasool (SAW), similarly Ali is your friend and sympathizer, therefore, name this child on the name of Aaron’s (A.S.) son Shabbir. The Prophet of Allah (SAW) often used to make Imam Hussain (A.S.) sit in his lap, kiss him and weep saying: One day, a great catastrophe would fall on my Hussain (A.S.), ferocious and oppressor people of Bani Umayyad would murder my son, I would not do any intercession for them. Rasool-e-Khuda (SAW) loved Imam Hussain (A.S.) very much. Companion of holy Prophet (SAW), Hazrat Salman Farsi (A.S.) says: I saw the Holy Prophet (SAW) is keeping Hussain (A.S.) in his lap, and while kissing him said, “Son! You are a son of Imam and father of nine Imams who would be in your creed, and the last one of them would be Imam Mahdi Mauood (A.S.). The Holy Prophet (SAW) loved Hussain (A.S.) that much that it could be gauged from this sentence He said one who keeps friend with Hassan (A.S.) and Hussain (A.S.) and one who keeps enmity with them is my enemy. Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) spent 6 years with his grandfather Prophet of Islam (SAW) and 30 years with his father Hazrat Ali (A.S.). He was involved with every grief of his father, and used to keep himself busy defending Islam risking his life during the rule of his father, and felt his duty to defend his brother by all means after the martyrdom of his father. After the death of Muawia, his degenerate son Yazid, in vanity, declared himself as leader of Muslims and wrote letters to Governors of different cities asking them to take his Bai’at from the Islamic personalities so as to consolidate his rule. One such letter was written to Madinah’s Governor Walid also asking him to take Bai’at from Hussain ibne Ali (A.S.) and if he refuses to do so, then chop off his head and send it to me. Muawia had advised Yazid several times to confront with anyone but not with Hussain (A.S.) otherwise he would dismember. The ruler of Madinah sent for Imam Hussain (A.S.) and apprised him of Yazid’s letter. He bravely replied that I am ready for martyrdom.
Becoming Khalifa-tul-Muslimeen of a transgressor and sinful person like Yazid was itself fatal for Islam, therefore, Imam Aali Muqam (A.S.) migrated to Makkah from Madinah. His migration from Madinah was an open refusal from Yazid’s Bai’at. Imam Hussain (A.S.) stated his objective clearly saying: My objective in the revolution is to order piousness, stopping the spread of evil, and wiping out oppression and brutality. It was the responsibility that was bestowed on him by Allah. The Prophet of Islam (SAW) and Ali ibne Abi Talib (A.S.) had stated about his martyrdom several times. He (A.S.) knew from the knowledge of Imamat that martyrdom is the outcome of this migration but Imam Hussain (A.S.) was not from amongst those persons who fear from death and give up the commandment of Allah; he used to consider calamity and martyrdom a blessing. He ultimately kissed martyrdom after reaching Karbala on 10th of Muharram along with his near and dear ones.
Imam Hussain’s (A.S.) face was bright like “Noor” on the day of Ashoor. He preached the lesson of spending life with gentlemanly bravery to the coming generations. Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) could not be wiped out from our hearts because Imam Hussain (A.S.) kissed martyrdom in way of Allah, in respect of humanity, for the survival of religion and Shariah. This love would continue to increase in people by the passage of time.
Imam Hussain (A.S.) spent his life spread over 56 years only for Allah’s pleasure. He performed several Hajj on foot; he had particular love for prayer and invocation so much so that he took time from the enemy for prayers the whole night, the last in his life. The memory of Hussain’s (A.S.) martyrdom could not be taken out from hearts. Every year, uncountable people consolidate their relationship of this love; the fighters for freedom and lovers of righteousness consider his (A.S.) martyrdom a beacon of light. That is the reason that every oppressed Kashmiri, Palestinian, Arab and non-Arab of this world expresses his love and devotion with him following their own traditions, for Imam (A.S.)’s courage, bravery, firmness is a complete lesson for the oppressed and have-nots the world over.
On the day of Ashoor, we present our condolences to the holy family of Muhammad and Aal-e-Muhammad (A.S.), particularly to Imam-e-Zamana (A.S.) and reiterate our resolve to keep that high objectives, targets and human values alive, for which protection Imam Aali Muqam (A.S.) laid down his life along with his companions, friends, offspring, and would not hesitate in sacrificing whatever we can in doing so. Khakpai Azadaran-e-Imam Mazloom (A.S.),
