Lebanon scholars slam US-Zionist atrocities against Iraqis, Pals

BEIRUT, Lebanon: A conference of Islamic Scholars here in Beirut has condemned the vicious crimes and atrocities being perpetrated by Zionists against the people of Palestine and that of the US-led occupation forces against the people of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mufti of Lebanon Sheikh Muhammad Rashid Qabbani, deputy head of the Supreme Shia Islamic Council Sheikh Abdul Ameer Qablan, Sheikh Aql Al Taifat Al Durziya, Sheikh Bahjat Gaith and secretary general of the Academy for Bringing Together of Islamic Schools of Thought Sheikh Ali Al Taskeeri attended the conference.

The scholars at the conference, organized by the Office of the Iranian Cultural Counselor in the Lebanese capital city of Beirut, also denounced US pressure against Syria.

Sheikh Muhammad Rashid Qabbani and Sheikh Abdul Ameer Qablan held separate talks with the Iranian delegation, in which both sides discussed several topics of mutual concern, especially the deteriorating situation of Iraq and Palestine.
