Rathor HELD SRINAGAR, Held Kashmir: Twenty-eight Indian soldiers and their relatives were killed and 10 people injured in a landmine blast in Indian held Kashmir on Sunday, one day after new Indian prime minister was sworn-in. The attack came as cabinet portfolios were still being handed out by the Premier Manmohan Singh. In New Delhi, a Muslim delegation called on Manmohan Singh Saturday a few hours before his official swearing in. “We kept forth problems related to the Muslims. If Madrassas are linked with schools...Muslims will be able to come into the mainstream,” Z. Ahmed Chamman, general secretary of the All India Babri Masjid Committee said after meeting Singh. The Muslim community has often felt discriminated against by Indian governments in the past. END |
