Muslim scholars mass in Syria to mark Unity Week opening By: Sultan Ahmed DAMASCUS, Syria: In connection with the beginning of Unity Week marking the birth anniversary of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh&hp), a grand gathering of Muslim religious scholars was held in the Syrian capital city of Damascus on Sunday. Some 400 Muslim religious scholars from 12 world countries – Iraq, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Ghana and Kenya - participated in the gathering organized by the office of Iran’s Supreme Leader in Syria. Supreme Leader’s representative in Syria Ayatullah Sayyed Mojtaba Hosseini in his remarks at the gathering noted that dialogue held a unique place in raising the quality of human life. The scholars discussed the necessity of Islamic unity in the present day world. They urged the need of adhering to Quran and seerah of holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh &hp).
