Tens of thousands of pilgrims impeded to visit Karbala, martyred By: Hamoud Kufi BAGHDAD, Iraq: Iraqi government reports show that hundreds of pilgrims to the holy sites of the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala were martyred during past few months while crossing Al-Latifiyah city, Karbala news reported Tuesday. According to the report Al-Latifiyah city, a part of death triangle and 32 kilometers south of Baghdad, is a stronghold of terrorists keeping malice for followers of the holy Prophet (p) and his progeny (p) working in the name of Islam in a bid to defame the religion of love and peace. Karbala news further said that according to the government reports tens of thousands of devotees and pilgrims heading to the holy city of Karbala, which hosts the holy shrines of Holy Prophet (p)’s grandson Al-Imam Al-Hussein bin Ali (p) and Al-Abbas bin Ali (p), in the Night of Qadr (19, 21, 23 of Ramadan) during which the best deed is visit to Imam Al-Hussein (p) in line with authentic traditions, were stopped from visiting Holy Karbala while crossing the city. The terrorists also exploded bridge of Al-Latifiyah damaging the path which links Baghdad with Holy Karbala. Meanwhile, Al-Faqaar Center for Investigation said 134 clerics who were followers of holy Prophet (p) and his progeny (p) were martyred in Al-Latifiyah city during the last three months. END |
