International Quds Day: Solidarity voiced with Palestinians

MONTREAL, Canada: International Al-Quds Day was observed in all global parts on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan to support the liberation of Qods from the clutches of the Zionists, express solidarity with the Palestinians and protest Israel's control over Jerusalem.

In Iran, people from all walks of life marked the Quds Day holding rallies. They reflected their support for Palestinian Intifada and voiced their hatred toward the Zionist regime. “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” were among the slogans chanted by people participating in Tehran rally. President Khatami, Judiciary Chief Ayatullah Shahroudi and Majlis Speaker Haddad-Adel as well as other senior Iranian officials joined the rally. The march was held simultaneously with the massive demonstrations in the other cities of Iran.

In Lebanon, leader of Hezbollah group Sheik Hassan Nasrallah speaking during a military parade to mark Al-Quds Day 'Jerusalem Day' in the eastern Lebanese city of Baalbek, said Hezbollah is capable of bombing Israeli targets from the air with drone aircraft.

Indian Muslims also held rallies and meetings to support Palestinian cause. They paid rich tributes to Yasser Arafat.

In Canada, a Quds Day rally was held at 2:30 pm at Queen Park, Parliament building. The rally proclaimed solidarity of Muslims in support of the legitimate rights of the Muslim people of Palestine.

Thousands of Muslims from different cities of Britain staged a protest rally in British capital city of London to mark the Quds Day.

Similar rallies and meetings were witnessed in many other countries.
