Marjaiyah calls for peaceful solution of Fallujah issue

HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: A representative of Ayatullah Sayyed Ali Husseini As-Sistani has declared that stance of Al-Marjaiyah Ad-Diniyah is same about Fallujah as was during the incidents of Holy Najaf.

Addressing thousands of worshippers at the holy shrine compound of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) in the holy city of Karbala on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, Sheikh Ahmed As-Safi An-Najafi said Al-Marjaiyah urged the need of peaceful solution of the Fallujah issue on the basis of supremacy of law and order as it had stressed upon during Holy Najaf incidents. The Marjaiyah called for making the cities free from foreign forces, fighters and illegal weapons, as well as compensation to innocent citizens.

An-Najafi said that Marjaiyah regrets any harm caused to innocent citizens. It does not differentiate between regions but keeps same position in Holy Najaf, Mosul, Baghdad, Fallujah and Ramadi.

Meanwhile, Al-Hawzah Al-Ilmiyah in Holy Najaf in a statement on 27 Ramadan, 11 November, expressed grave concern on what is going on with the innocent unarmed citizens “our brethren” in Fallujah. The statement prayed from Allah to shower blessings of this holy month – peace, love and unity - on “our people and brethren” in Fallujah and in all other parts of the beloved motherland.
