Baqee Demolition Day programs demand shrines reconstruction, regret media silence By: Salman Alvi
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Youm-e-Inhidam-e-Jannatul Baqee, or the Day of Demolition of Cemetery of Baqee, was observed throughout Pakistan like other global parts in line with the announcement made by chief of the Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya Syed Hamid Moosavi on Shawwal 8 with due religious spirit, fervor and devotion. Marking the occasion, protest mourning processions were held in all big cities and towns.
Addressing on this occasion, Agha Moosavi said emblems and graves of Khanwada-e-Risalat-Maab (SAW) are sign of integrity of religion, while their protection, defense, renovation and construction is acme of religion and shariah, and therein lays success, supremacy and survival of Islamic World besides being a proof of our hearty devotion and love.
The Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Hamid Moosavi said reconstruction, renovation and restoration of dignity of Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Mualla is prerequisite for liberation of Al-Quds Ash-Sharif and independence of Kashmir and Palestine, without which dream of end of sufferings being faced by the Islamic World and resolution of its problems could not become true.
In Federal capital Islamabad, a procession to mark the day began from the shrine of Sakhi Mehmoud Badshah led by religious scholars and dignitaries including Syed Shujaat Ali Bokhari Additional Secretary TNFJ, Malik-e-Ashtar Central Secretary Youm-e-Inhidam-e-Jannatul Baqee Committee, Allama Basharat Hussain Imami TNFJ District Council Islamabad President, Allama Guftaar Hussain Sadiqi Khateeb Jamia Masjid Jafariya I-9, Allama Hussain Muqaddasi, Allama Zawwar Hussain Madni, Allama Fakhar Abbas Zahidi, Allama Zainul Abideen Naqvi, Allama Shaikh Ijaz Hussain, Allama Taqi-un-Naqvi, Maulana Sajjad Hussain Gardezi, Maulana Mazhar Hussain Naqvi, Maulana Ijlal Haider Masoomi, Bawa Syed Dilbar Hussain Shah, Syed Nazakat Hussain Kazmi Mukhtar Force District Islamabad Commander, Syed Nusrat Ali Naqvi, Ch. Sabir Hussain, Ghulam Abbas Haideri, Malik Intizar Hussain, Sakhi Muhammad Haideri, Zulfiqar Ali Raja MSO District Islamabad Organizer.
After touching through its designated routes, the protest mourning procession reached Aabpara Chowk reciting Nohas and performing Matamdari where it turned out into a protest meeting. President TNFJ District Islamabad Allama Basharat Hussain Imami, Central Spokesman TNFJ Syed Qamar Zaidi, Allama Sheikh Ijaz Hussain, Allama Zahid Abbas Kazmi and Syed Zulqarnain Naqvi addressed.
Qamar Zaidi in his address read out a special message of Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi in which he called upon the Muslim rulers that he is ready to guarantee solution all problems including annexation of Al-Quds Ash-Sharif from the Zionist clutches and independence of Kashmir, if the get the lost dignity of destructed shrines in Saudi Arabia restored. He said the honor and dignity for Khasan-e-Khuda in their lifetime and that of their graves and shrines in post-life era is similar. In his message, he said if the outfit of Prophet Yousaf (A.S.), that was the sign of the beloved, brings back the eyesight of Prophet Yaqub (A.S.) by touching it with his eyes then our all problems could be resolved by respecting these holy places that are called Sha’a’ir-Ullah. He said all Muslims should seek forgiveness for their sins and make the respect and dignity of the holy places a part of their faith (Iman), and make all out efforts for restoring the dignity of Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Mualla, otherwise they should be ready for more trials in future.
Allama Shaikh Ijaz Hussain Modarris in his address said, that respect for Sha’a’ir-Ullah is the sign of piety. He said when the shrines of Founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Thinker of Pakistan Allama Iqbal exist and where armed forces of Pakistan regularly present homage then is Islam different for Pakistan and Saudi Arabia? He said the destructed holy shrines of Mohsina-e-Insaniyyat and Mohsina-e-Islam Syeda Fatima Zahra (S.A.) that is result of heinous activity of Aal-e-Saud, is a question mark for Muslim Ummah.
Allama Basharat said, holy places are the asset of the whole Islamic Ummah and every honorable nations defends her assets. Thanking the newspapers that provided coverage to the Youm-e-Inhidam-e-Jannatul Baqee, and condemning the biased policy of Daily “Jang” Rawalpindi, he demanded strict action against black sheep present in the said institution because they are becoming the cause of damaging the reputation of that newspaper. He said a newspaper does not belong to any particular Maslak or a sect rather it is the spokesman of the people and Jannatul Baqee is a human issue because every conscious, intelligent and live nation keeps the signs of their elders and Mashaheer intact and respects them.
Allama Zahid Abbas Kazmi chief of the Wahdat Ulema-e-Pakistan said, the destruction of Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Mualla for the last 78 years is the tragic chapter of Islamic history and a black scar on the Muslim Ummah. The participants of the rally unanimously adopted a resolution presented by Syed Zulqarnain Haider Naqvi that demanded from the government to exert pressure on Saudi government on diplomatic level for reconstruction of holy shrines in Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Mualla under the May 21, 1985 Junejo-Moosavi agreement. The resolution made it clear that if the Islamic World did not get the dignity of the holy places restored, then it could be anybody’s turn, one by one. The participants resolved that their struggle would continue till the reconstruction and renovation of Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Mualla.
Another resolution declared that Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan is the only representative organization of the Maktab-e-Tashayyo and it would not let any body bargain the rights of the Shian-e-Haider-e-Karrar. The resolution said that Millat-e-Jafariya Pakistan and Shia demands has nothing to do with the banned terrorist groups. In this connection we are bound to only follow the line of action given by the Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Syed Hamid Moosavi. On his call we would be ready to thwart any conspiracy of the banned groups against their rights. The rally then terminated after reaching back shrine of Sakhi Mehmoud Badshah where concluding Dua was also offered. Allama Basharat Imami expressed thanks to the participants and district administration.
In Rawalpindi, main protest mourning procession was taken out to protest against the demolition of holy shrines of the daughter of holy Prophet (SAW) Khatoon-e-Jannat Hazrat Syeda Fatima Zahra (A.S.), Ummahatul Momineen (R.A.) and Sahaba Kibar (A.S.) in Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Mualla at the hands of Saudi rulers on Shawwal 8, 1926. Several thousand people participated while matmi corps offered condolence to the Holy Prophet (SAW) on the demolition of holy shrines of his beloved daughter, pious wives, and great companions by performing noha khwani and matamdari. The procession began followed by a grand majlis-e-aza held at imambargah Nasir-ul-Aza near Waris Khan Bus Stop. Religious scholars and dignitaries belonging to different schools of thought led the procession.
The participants were chanting slogans against the demolition of holy shrines while demanding their reconstruction, while hundreds of little activists of Mukhtar Generation were holding protest banners and placards inscribed with statements about reconstruction of Jannatul Baqee. Throughout the route, noha khwani and matamdari remained in continuation. Reaching Committee Chowk, the procession turned into a meeting addressing which the speakers termed honor and dignity of Prophets and Awliya Allah tantamount to respect for religion and shariah. They said respect and honor for holy shrines is not only a good deed but also a sign of nearness to Allah.
Convener Central Committee of TNFJ for Day of Demolition of Jannatul Baqee Ghulam Murtaza Chauhan while addressing expressed his regrets that those personalities who enlightened the compound of shariah and disseminated the religion in the hole world, their shrines are laying destructed for the last 78 years but our rulers, politicians and media are playing role of silent spectators. They are at forefront in every issue but unable to lodge protest on the demolition of cemetery of Baqee and give coverage of this news. He said that media cries if only a brick of the grave of a dictator is touched, but it is not ready even for giving coverage to protest against the great tragedy of Jannatul Baqee!!! Islamic World is being punished courtesy to the thoughtlessness of our rulers and criminal silence of media.
The procession unanimously passed a resolution that made clear that by the grace of Allah Pakistan came into being in the name of Islam, which is not a sectarian State. Sects also existed before creation of Pakistan. If sects was the main issue then people would have migrated to the regions of their specific beliefs, but Muslims of Subcontinent deemed necessary the formation of a separate country on the basis of basic ideology under the leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah by becoming one so that rights of all could be fulfilled on equal level here. But it’s painful that a specific clique with congressional mentality that was ideologically against Pakistan took control of the whole country and all its departments, particularly it held the Press.
The resolution made clear that as Kashmir and Palestine are issues of the whole Islamic World similarly issue of Jannatul Baqee is the issue of entire Islamic World. If we demand restoration of dignity of Al-Quds Ash-Sharif and Babri Mosque, then at first we ourselves should have to restore the dignity of Sha’a’ir-Ullah housed in Muslim Countries. The participants demanded from Aal-e-Saud to reconstruct the holy shrines of Jannatul Baqee.
By another resolution, the grand procession strongly condemned the policy of daily Jang Rawalpindi for not giving coverage to the Day of Demolition of Jannatul Baqee, even its announcement. They stressed that Jang Group of Newspapers cannot keep this policy but there are a few people in Jang Rawalpindi staff that are working to damage reputation of the newspaper. The resolution said that TNFJ Rawalpindi would adopt some strategy by convening a meeting on Jang Rawalpindi attitude after some time. The resolution also thanked the media that cooperated in giving coverage to the programs of Day of Demolition of Jannatul Baqee. The procession ended at Imambargah Col Maqbool Hussain with dua and ziarat. Heavy contingent of police remained with the procession.
In Peshawar, a protest mourning procession was brought out from Chowk Chah Shahbaz under the arrangements of TNFJ Day of Demolition of Jannatul Baqee district Committee. The procession turned into a meeting reaching Shaheed Chowk of Qissa Khwani Bazar. Allama Ghulam Ali Zahid and others addressed. Later the procession culminated at the Imambargah.
In Faisalabad, Day of Demolition of Jannatul Baqee procession was taken out from Central Imambargah Aza Khana Shabbir Dhobi Ghat attended by a large number of notabilities belonging to different schools of thought and matmi corps. Leaders of TNFJ Allama Abdul Hassan Sarhadi, Nazar Hussain and others addressed the participants at Ghenta Ghar Chowk.
In Lahore, a grand protest mourning procession was taken out from Karbala Gamay Shah to mark the occasion. The participants were holding banners and placards inscribed with demands of reconstruction of Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Mualla. In Karachi, a protest-mourning rally was staged in front of Press Club under the arrangements of TNFJ Divisional Council.
Rally demanded the present Government of Pakistan and reminded it of the 1985 “Jonejo-Moosave-Agreement” which states of promising by the Pakistan Government, to approach & exert pressure upon Saudi Government on “Diplomatic Level” for the restoration & rebuilding the dignity of the holy shrines that had been destructed at “Jannat-ul-Baqee, Madina” & “Jannat-ul-Moalla, Makkah”, and that if United Nations Organization stands responsible to defend Human Rights world-over, it should also take positive steps reference to re-construction of holy grave-yards.
Addressing to the rally arranged by TNFJ Karachi, Allama Waqar Taqvi (Secretary General, TNFJ Div. Council Sind) said: ‘if Islamic world requires to be respected by the world, OIC must pressurize to rebuild Jannat-ul-Baqee, whereby those personalities are laid to rest who are introducers of Islam & enabled the religion of Allah be known to people around the world. Allama Syed Mazhar Hussain Abidi (President, TNFJ Div. Council Karachi) at the occasion said, “if the holy graves of the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) & the holy graves her sons including Imam Jaffer Sadiq (A.S), Imam Hassan (A.S), Imam Mohammad Baqir (A.S) and many others had been bull-dozed & demolished, then we cannot understand what sense makes the presence of the shrines of the Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and all other Aulia-e-Keram on the land of Pakistan & India & so many other places.
Syed Badar Ali Tirmizi (Vice President, TNFJ Karachi), on the occasion said presently the Saudi Arab has been changed to Yahudi Arab (the land governed by the minds of orthodox Jews). Allama Ali Ghani Naqvi, Allama Agha Nadir Shah & many other religious scholars were present at the occasion, and protested, and said if Pakistani Government & other Islamic countries protest against India, for reconstruction of Babri Mosque, it is not understandable why they are so quiet over the issue of Jannat-ul-Baqee & Jannat-ul-Moalla.
