Afghanis mourn martyrdom of Hazret-e-Ali (a.s.) By: Rafiullah MAZAR-E-SHARIF, Afghanistan: Like other countries, martyrdom anniversary of Wasi-e-Rasul Hazret-e-Ali b. Abee Tauleb (peace be upon them) was observed with due fervor and reverence across Afghanistan. Marking the occasion, majalis-e-aza were held at mosques, husseiniyat and imam bargahs in Kabul, Mazar-e-Sharif – where there is situated beautiful holy shrine of Hazret-e-Ali (peace be upon him) –, Bamyan, Herat and many other cities and towns. Speakers while addressing these mourning gatherings that began on the eve of 19 Ramazan and ended on 21 Ramazan highlighted the pious character and life of Father of A’immah from the progeny of holy Prophet Hazret-e-Muhammad (peace be upon him & his pure progeny), Hazre-e-Ali (peace be upon him). They threw light on different aspects of the holy life of Hazret-e-Ali (peace be upon him), his patience, bravery, boldness, courage, courtesy, his support for holy Prophet (peace be upon him & his pure progeny) and tragedy of his martyrdom. The mourners offered their condolences to the holy family of holy Prophet (peace be upon him & his pure progeny) on the occasion which caused the entire universe to weep and weep. Meanwhile, A’maal of Shab-e-Qadr (Night of Qadr) – special prayers, recitation of holy Quran, Dua Joshan Kabeer, seeking forgiveness and other ad’iyah - were performed on 19th and 21st nights of Ramazan at mosques and husseiniyat across the country attended by large number of followers of Ahlel Beit (peace be upon them).
