Maraje in Ramadan messages call for unity to foil conspiracies By: Ismail Zabeeh HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: On the occasion of the advent of holy month of Ramadan, Marajay Ad-Diniyah (religious authorities) have called for unity to thwart conspiracies designed by enemies aimed at causing harm to Muslims and particularly Iraqis, and given significant advices to the oppressed nation in the present critical situation. In his statement from holy city of Najaf, Ayatullah Sayyed Muhammad Saeed Al-Hakim greeted the Islamic nation marking the holy fasting month and prayed that may Allah give ability to all for fasting, praying and performing its right besides bringing it to Muslims with prosperity, peace and blessings. Ayatullah Al-Hakim quoted a tradition from Amil-ul Mo’mineen Al-Imam Ali ibne Abi Talib (p) that he said: One day, Holy Prophet (p) addressed us and said: “O people! No doubt the month of Allah has come to you with blessing, mercy and forgiveness, the month that is best of all months in the sight of Allah, and its days are best of all days, and its nights are best of all nights, and its hours are best of all hours, this is the month in which you are invited to be guests of Allah… your breaths therein are glorification to Allah and your sleep therein is worship, and your deeds therein are accepted, and your prayers therein are fulfilled, so ask Allah your Lord with true intentions and pure hearts that He give you ability for His fasts and recitation of His Book, he is villain who prohibits forgiveness from Allah in this great month, and remember your hunger and your thirst therein with hunger of the Day of Resurrection and its thirst, and give charity to your poor and your needy, and respect your elders, and show mercy to your younger ones, and connect your relatives, and save your tongues, and shut your eyes from that whereto casting look is not legal, and your ears from that listening to which is not legal, and love people’s orphans so that your orphans be loved, and repent Allah for your sins, and raise your hands for prayer (duaa) in times of your prayer (salat) as it is the best of all moments, Allah The Glorified and The Exalted casts look therein with mercy on His servants, He answers them if they whisper to Him, and He answers them if they call Him, and He gives them if they ask Him and He responds to them if they call Him”. The Ayatullah urged the need of performing worship in this month, recitation of holy Quran and pondering in its verses as there is a saying of Al-Imam Al-Baqer (p) that “for everything there is spring, and the spring of Quran is month of Ramadan” as well as performing invocations, the preferable prayers, seeking forgiveness, doing good with all, help poor believers. A saying of Al-Imam As-Sadeq (p) goes: Amir-ul Mo’mineen (p) said, upon you in Ramadan abundance of prayer and seeking forgiveness, as the prayer, calamities from you are removed thereby, and as for the seeking forgiveness your sins are removed thereby. In Holy Karbala – home to the holy shrines of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) and Al-Abbas (p) -, Ayatullah Sayyed Muhammad Taqi Al-Modarresi urged all sides to respect each other. He hoped that unity pillars and belonging to one religion and one homeland would help overcome all reasons of conflict and disagreement. From Iran’s holy city of Qom, Ayatullah Kadhim Al-Haeri said this month is the month of mercy, sympathy and mutual love among the believers; therefore it is necessary that Muslims adorn themselves with these qualities. He called for unity. Throwing light on the importance and significance of Ramadan, Ayatullah Sayyed Hadi Al-Modarresi from Holy Karbala said divine responsibility also includes responsibility of all believers to do for mending the situation in Iraq. Iraqis should take this holy month as a station of goodness for themselves, reconciliation with each other, and reforming their affairs. END |
