Biggest scientific edifice ‘Imam Sadeq (p) Varsity’ planned

HOLY KAZEMIYAH, Iraq: Head of Shiite endowment council Sayyed Hussein Ash-Shami said the endowment after the fall of tyrant Saddam regime stood for its administrative and financial reorganization, pointing that the endowment was the victim of successive regimes and subject to an intended premeditation of seizure of its savings and treasures.

Ash-Shami said the Shias are not a small sect but it played a main role in Iraq construction, they are Iraq builders but unfortunately they did not possess mosques, husseiniyat and institutes according to their number as they make up majority in the country. He told that construction of 300 mosques and Husseiniyat took place in Baghdad and governorate. Also, we have started construction and development of sacred Kazemi Shrine which was neglected much.

He pointed that the council opened 40 private schools with coordination of ministries of upbringing and higher education. All scientific, academic and religious studies are being taught in these schools and they are a new branch of the Al-Hawza Al-Ilmiya that Saddam's regime resorted to the killing of its scientists and destruction of its schools after in the beginning of 70s it was teeming with the scientific efficiencies and number of its scientists topped than 30 thousand while after the beginning of 90s their number was not more than some hundreds.

The chief of Shiite endowment council added, “We have prepared for construction of a grand scientific, cultural and religious edifice “Al-Imam Jaafar As-Sadeq (peace be upon him) University” that includes faculties of medicine, engineering, sciences, languages and training... and the religious faculties as well. The negotiations and consultations are being held with the ministries and concerned authorities for the start of construction plan, after the site has been chosen in the region of the glorified door.”

“I can confirm that we got the fundamental and legal approval, and now are about to create Board of Trustees and select professors and its organizational cadres,” he said.
