S. Arabia: Mourning gatherings mark Imam Kadhim (p) M-day

AD-DAMMAM, Saudi Arabia: Martyrdom anniversary of seventh infallible descendant of Prophet Muhammad (p), Al-Imam Mussa bin Jafar Al-Kadhim (p), was marked in eastern parts of Saudi Arabia as well as some other cities with due respect and fervor.

The mourning programs at mosques and husseiniyat began on 24 Rajab, eve of the martyrdom anniversary of the holy Imam (p), and culminated late on 25 Rajab. Large number of mourners attended majales and mawakeb (the mourning sittings and processions), and performed azaa-il- Imam Al-Kadhim (p) thus extended their condolences and consolation to the Seal of Prophets, Prophet Muhammad (p) and his holy progeny (p) marking the occasion.

In Ad-Dammam, addressing a Majles Al-Azaa at Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) Mosque on 25 Rajab, Sayyed Ali As-Salman threw light on the seerah and sufferings of Imam Al-Kadhim (p). He depicted that how Imam Al-Kadhim (p) bore oppressions of despots of his era but their oppression and barbarism could not smash his firmness.

He also quoted some of the events from Imam Al-Kadhim (p)’s pious life one of these was that once during his imprisonment, one of Imam (p)’s lover got a chance to meet him. He asked Imam (p): “when will be the freedom?” Imam (p) replied: “very soon”. He asked: “when?” Imam (p) in reply told him the day and place as well, saying “on Baghdad Bridge.” The man stood up in happiness and went out. He informed all lovers of Ahlul Bayt (p) about this and they all began waiting that day anxiously. On that day they gathered near the bridge and found that despot Harun Ar-Rashid’s men brought a corpse and put it on the bridge. When they came to know that the corpse is of Imam Al-Kadhim (p), they burst into tears and cries. Knowing this Harun ordered to disperse the crowd.

Sheikh Hasan An-Namar while addressing another mourning gathering in Ad-Dammam spoke on the holy life of Imam (p) in detail.

In Tarout, Majlis Diwaniyah Al-Ghadir organized a mourning sitting to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Al-Kadhim (p) at Al-Imam Zayn Al-Abdin (p) Mosque on 25 Rajab. Sheikh Abbas Al-Mahrous addressed. Later, replica coffin of Imam Al-Kadhim (p) was taken out and renowned husseini dirge-chanter Sayyed Qassem Ash-Shakhs recited dirges.

A Majles Al-Azaa was held under the arrangements of Mawkab Az-Zaynabi in Tarout on 25 Rajab. Large number of people attended.

In Al-Jaroudiyah, a Majles Al-Azaa was held at Al-Imam Al-Hassan (p) Mosque addressed by Sheikh Muhammad Darwesh Al-Fardan.

A mourning procession was taken out in Ash-Shweykah organized by Mawkab Al-Imam Al-Hassan (p) on 25 Rajab, 11 September. Renowned husseini elegy-chanter Qadir Khaled Al-Hayan made special participation.
