Ayat Sistani demands PM release Hezbollah captives

HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Iraq’s Al-Bayyanah newspaper reported that Ayatullah Sayyed Ali As-Sistani contacted on telephone with Iraqi Premier Ayad Alawi demanding him release of detained fighters and leaders of Hezbollah Movement in Iraq immediately and without hesitation.

Al-Bayyanah said this is the first time in the history of Marjaiyah (religious authority) that a contact with a governmental official takes place about a case of this kind.
