Kaabah Washing: Shia partakes first time in Aal-e-Saud era By: Abdulali HOLY CITY OF MECCA, Saudi Arabia: Presence of a Shia scholar in Holy Kaabah Washing ceremony in the holy city of Mecca sparked anger in radicals, Saudi Arabia’s rasid news reported. According to details, Iran’s Judiciary Chief Sayyed Mahmoud Al-Hashemi along with other political and religious personalities accompanied the governor of the holy city of Mecca Prince Abdel Majeed bin Abdelaziz in the washing of (House of Allah) holy Kaabah, birth place of Holy Prophet Muhammad (p)’s cousin and son-in-law Al-Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (p). The ceremony took place on Wednesday, 15 September, beginning of Shaban, 8th month of Islamic Calendar. According to rasid news, forums of radicals on the Internet spitted out poison against the government and Shias. A forum named ‘As-Saha Al-Arabiya’ or the Arab arena writes: “For the first time the prince of Holy Mecca takes company of one of Rawafid for the Holy Kaabah washing… to this extent that this rafdi entered the Ka’abah… and he walks and stands on the right of Holy Mecca prince... and Sheikh Haseen on his left.” The extremists said all this happened because of United States’ pressures on the government especially after US State Department annual report which criticizes the kingdom for violation of religious freedoms.
