Jordan plans fifth minaret at Al-Aqsa Mosque By: Sultan Ahmed AMMAN, Jordan: Jordan plans to construct a fifth minaret at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Held Jerusalem, and the move appears to have the approval of Israeli authorities despite the sensitivity of the site to Jews and Muslims. Vice president of the state Jordanian Construction Committee Raef Nijem said: “I picked the location of the minaret to be near the eastern wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque because there is no minaret there and the area overlooks agricultural land.” “We've approached Israeli authorities, who had voiced no objection to the project,” Nijem said.
