Thousands flock at Mash’had, Qom, Jamkaran By: Sheikh Muhammad Khurasani HOLY CITY OF MASH’HAD, Iran: Neema-i-Sha’aban, or the mid of the holy month of Sha’aban, is being celebrated across Iran including holy cities of Mash’had and Qom with due fervor.
Fifteenth Sha’aban night and day both are blessed and possess great nobility and height according to narrations and traditions of holy Prophet Hazret-e-Muhammad Mustafa (p) and A’immah Ahlel Bait (p). The night and the day achieved more honor with the birth of the last descendant of holy Prophet (p), Hazrat-e-Imam-e-Asr (p) in year 255 AH in Holy Samara, Iraq. Main Jashan-e-Meelad-e-Mas’ood (festivals marking auspicious birth anniversary of Imam-e-Asr) will be held at the holy shrines of Hazret-e-Imam Ali bin Mousa Ar-Reza (p) in the holy city of Mash’had, Hazret-e-Fatimeh Masoumeh (p) in the holy city of Qom and Jamkaran Mosque. It is said that Jamkaran Mosque was built on the order of Imam-e-Asr Hazret-e-Imam Muhammad Al-Mehdi (p). Tens of thousands of devotees are being thronged at the holy Shrines and Jamkaran Mosque marking the auspicious occasion. Holy shrines, mosques, tombs, hussainiyaat, streets and buildings are beautifully decorated with colored lightning and pendants, sweets are distributed and standards inscribed with the holy name of Imam-e-Asr (Imam of the Time) are hoisted.
