Syria hosts annual festival marking Imam Ali (a.s.) B-day By: s-archiv alshirazi Contribution: Sultan Ahmed DAMASCUS, Syria: Marking the birth anniversary of Ameer-ul-Mo’mineen Al-Imam Ali ben Abi Taleb (alay-hes salam), a two day festival titled “Al-Imam Ali ben Abi Taleb (alayhis salam) and human rights” was held at Hawza Ilmiya Zainabiya in the capital Damascus suburbs, near the holy shrine of Sayyeda Zainab (alay-has salam).
The fourth annual festival, organized by Firdous Center for Culture and Media, began on the eve of 13 Rajab – the birth anniversary of Al-Imam Ali (alay-hes salam) – and attended by large number of believers.
Those who perfumed the two-day (12-13 Rajab, 29-30 Aug) festival with their worthy recitations, lectures, speeches, eulogies and poetry included Al-Ustaz Moqrayi (quranic reciter) Sheikh Hasan Al-Muhammadi, Al-Ustaz Zaki An-Nuri, Al-Ustaz Hussein As-Sayyed, Sheikh Muhammad Reza Hatim, Al-Ustaz Ontawan Bara, Poet Ahmed Idd, Ayatullah Sayyed Mortaza Ash-Shirazi, Al-Imam As-Sadeq eulogist group, Al-Ustaz Malik Ar-Rafayi, Moqrayi (quranic reciter) Sheikh Yasser As-Salih, Al-Ustaz Bassam Hussein, journalist Marhaj Muhammad who represented Lebanese newspaper As-Safeer’s editor-in-chief Talal Salman, Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Mashouq Al-Khaznawi, Al-Allama Sheikh Abdelkarim Al-Haeri, former Lebanese Minister poet Joseph Al-Hashem, Asia’s envoy in defense for the rights of blacks in the world professor George Gabor, renowned historian, author and poet Ahmed As’ad Al-Hara and thinker Sheikh Ja’far Al-Hadi.
