BERLIN, Germany: Worldwide celebrations in connection
with Maulid-ur Rasul Al-Adham, or the birthday of holy
Prophet Abul Qassem Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Mustafa
(peace be upon him and his pure progeny) are in
continuance with great religious enthusiasm and solemnity.
Mauled-ur Rasul processions, poetic meetings, public
gatherings, galas, functions, conferences, seminars and
symposiums mark the auspicious event.
Religious leaders and speakers, at these festive and
spiritual gatherings, highlight different aspects of the
life of the Chief of Prophets Prophet Muhammad (peace be
upon him and his pure progeny), his character, teachings,
sufferings, forgiveness of even his most bitter enemies,
his fortitude in the face of general opposition,
leadership in battles, bravery, mercy, kindness, wisdom,
preaching, his love for Ahl-ul Bayt (peace be upon them).

Salutations and eulogies are recited in praise of Khatmur
Rusal, or the Seal of Messengers (peace be upon him and
his pure progeny).
Streets, mosques, buildings and houses are bedecked with
bright buntings and multicolored pennants and well
illuminated at night and feasts are arranged.
In Iraq, the auspicious occasion is being celebrated as
“Osboo Al-Mahabbah va Al-Mavaddah (Week of Love and
Devotion)” in line with the announcement made by Sayyed
Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim, chief of United Iraqi Alliance and
head of Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq.
According to some traditions holy Prophet (peace be upon
him and his pure progeny) was born on Rabi-ol Avval 12
while authentic reports say it was Rabi-ol Avval 17. Rabi-ol
Avval 17 also marks the birthday of holy Prophet (peace be
upon him and his pure progeny)’s sixth infallible
descendant Al-Imam Ja’far As-Sadeq (peace be upon him).
Different religious organizations as well as offices of
Marajay Diniyah (religious authorities) have drawn up
elaborate programs being held at the holy shrines of Imam
Ali (peace be upon him), Imam Hussein (peace be upon him),
Hadhrat Abbas (peace be upon him), Imam Al-Kazdhim (peace
be upon him), Imam Al-Javvad (peace be upon him), Imam Ali
Al-Hadi (peace be upon him) and Imam Al-Askari (peace be
upon him) to observe the week.


A grand celebratory program is scheduled to take place on
Saturday in the holy compound of the holy mausoleum of
Imam Mousa Al-Kadhim (peace be upon him). Clerics,
representatives of Arab foreign diplomatic associations,
Christian clerics, political and social figures, tribal
chiefs, thinkers, intellectuals and scholars will attend.
In Pakistan, Rabi-ol Avval 12 is being marked with the
beginning of ‘Unity and Brotherhood Week’ on the call of
Quaed-e-Millat-e-Jafariya Sayyed Hamid Mosavi in
connection with Maulidur Rasul As-Sadiq (peace be upon him
and his pure progeny) and Maulid of his descendant Imam
Ja’far As-Sadeq (peace be upon him). The Week will
culminate on Rabi-ol Avval 17.
In Abu Dhabi, ‘Al Maled’ — one of the popular genres of
the art of recitation in UAE — was organized on Monday at
the Cultural Foundation to celebrate the birthday of
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his pure progeny).
Also known as Maulid it features a long poem about the
story of the birth of the Holy Prophet and his Seerah. A
special melodious instrument, called ‘daf’, and ‘As-Sammaa’,
a local harmonious instrument, were also used to give
force to the recitation rhythm. Religious hymn about the
Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure progeny)’s holy
life and his unique qualities were recited.
Palestinians organized functions to celebrate Prophet
Muhammad (peace be upon him and his pure progeny)’s
birthday inside the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in Held
Jerusalem.
In Afghanistan, celebrations are being held at different
mosques, husseiniyaat as well as at the Ziarat-e-Abul
Fazil Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) shrine in Kabul.
During these celebratory gatherings, prayers are offered
for well-being of Muslims all over the world, supremacy of
Islam and safety of holy sites.
