By: Ismail Zabeeh

BAGHDAD, Iraq: Al-Marajay Ad-Diniyah and Chairman Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq Sayyed Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim have severely denounced a bomb blast that ripped through a Baghdad Husseiniyah leaving at least one dozen Mo’mineen (believers) martyred and scores other injured.

They urged Iraqis to remain united and patient to thwart the heinous conspiracy of Anti-Islam and –Iraq elements.

The explosion in the capital's eastern New Baghdad neighborhood at the Mosque As-Subaih which is also known as Husseiniyah Al-Mehdi (p) occurred during Friday prayers.

A police official said: "Some witnesses said they saw a bomber in the car, a white BMW."

Two houses were damaged in the attack, a source at the interior ministry said.

One section of the husseiniyah collapsed. Frantic worshippers in blood-spattered clothes searched through the rubble for loved ones, as wailing women beat their chests in grief.

Body parts littered the ground. One man clutched a child's foot, shaking and weeping.

"I was inside the husseiniyah when the explosion happened, and I saw many dead and injured," said worshipper and grocery store owner Abdullah Faraj. "This is a cowardly and savage act that aims to create conflict among Iraqis."

Separately, 19 dead bodies of members of Iraqi National Guards have been found in Beiji, 200 kilometers north of Baghdad. These 19 men were abducted three days back.

Earlier, terrorists had killed 19 other Iraqi soldiers in a football ground in Al-Anbar city.
