DAMASCUS, Syria: In commemoration of Arbaeen Al-Husseiny, mourning programs were organized at holy shrines of Ahlul Bayt (peace be on them), mosques, husseiniyat and Islamic centers in Syria like other parts of the world.

Several hundred convoys of mourners had descended on this holy city of Damascus – city of Sayyedah Zaynab (peace be on her) - from different countries including United States, Britain, Canada, Germany, Iran, Lebanon, Pakistan and India to observe Arbaeen.

Big mourning processions, taken out under the arrangement of different organizations, culminated at the holy shrine of Sayyedah Zaynab bint-e-Ali (peace be on them) after marching through the streets of Damascus.

Tatbeer or Latam with Qama and zangir (striking swords and razors on head and backs) was performed in front of the holy shrine of Sayyedah Zaynab bint-e-Ali (peace be on them) paying rich homage to the Martyrs of Karbala.

Majales were also witnessed at the mausoleums of Sayyedah Zaynab bint-e-Ali and Sayyedah Sakinah bint-ol Hussein (peace be on them).

Husseiny speakers highlighted the objective of Husseiny revolution that revived the divine message entrusted to the Prophets (peace be on them), and then Sayyedah Zaynab (peace be on her) spread it to the whole world with valor and determination. They portrayed the event of return of Ahlul Bayt (peace be on them) to Karbala on the Day of Arbaeen.
