Guyana Qaseeda contest absorbs delegates from various countries

GEORGETOWN, Guyana: South American country Guyana will host the
International Qaseeda Competition 2005 and plans are in progress to
make this event one of the biggest in its history.
The date for the event was fixed for August 21, 2005.
Qaseeda is the singing of eulogies in praise of the Holy Prophet
Muhammad (p).
Contestants of the event are already confirmed from Suriname, Guyana,
Trinidad & Tobago, United States of America, England, Canada,
Pakistan, India, South Africa and Holland.
The event is expected to attract hundreds of overseas visitors from
the countries named and other countries have indicated their intention
to participate.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars will be given in prizes.
