DAMASCUS/ HOLY KARBALA: Rajab 15 marks the anniversary of martyrdom of Maulatana Al-Hauraa Zeinab Bint-e-Ali bin Abi Taleb (a.s.), and this day was observed by millions of devotees reverently in Syria that houses her holy shrine as well as the city of her brothers namely Al-Imam Al-Hussein (a.s.) and Al-Abbas (a.s.) – holy Karbala - like other countries.
 
Massive mourning processions attended by black-dressed mourners took to the streets of Holy Karbala in commemoration of the heart-rending occasion. Throughout their routes, the mourners were chanting Husseini elegies and beating heads and chests to signify their deep grief on the martyrdom of Sayyedah Aal-i-Yassin Batlato Karbala Zeinab Al-Kobra (a.s.).
 
The processions culminated at the holy mausoleums of Al-Imam Al-Hussein a.s.) and Abu Al-Fadhl Al-Abbas (a.s.) extending them condolences on the martyrdom of their sister Zeinab (a.s.) who was with them in rendering sacrifices in the tragedy of Karbala to save Islam. 

Damascus' As-Sitt Zeinab district was home to full of grief on Rajab 15. Mourning groups turning around the holy shrine of Omm Al-Masaeb (a.s.) Aqeelah-e-Bani Hashem Sayyedah Zeinab (a.s.) marked the anniversary of her martyrdom.

Devotees and pilgrims from different parts of the world were also present in the big mourning ceremony. Mourning processions touching through different streets ended at the holy shrine where speakers recited in detail event of her martyrdom.

Also in Ayatullah Khomeini mosalla, near the holy shrine of Sayyedah Zeinab (a.s.) two separate ceremonies were held for Iranian and Arab pilgrims.
 
Similar programs were also witnessed at many other venues arranged by various organizations.
