Bahrain forms council to stop rift-creating attempts

AL-MANAMA, Bahrain: Bahraini King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifah has issued a royal decree to form a high council for Islamic affairs to stop any attempt to create differences between Bahrainis with all their Islamic sects.

The royal decree appointed 16 members of Sunni, and Shia.The council will be headed by the Bahraini Minister of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalid Al Khalifah

The aim of the council is to prepare programs, and plans to develop Islamic activities, save the Islamic heritage, demonstrate Islamic values and to unify Muslims. The high council aims also to narrow the gab between the followers of sects in Bahrain, to enhance the national unity, to participate in specialized researches, to supervise the publication of Islamic books, and support Sharieah students who like to complete their studies in other countries.


ISCHRO flays human rights violations against Shias in Bahrain

AUCKLAND, New Zealand: New Zealand-based International Shia Cultural and Human Rights Organization, ISCHRO, has condemned human rights violations against Bahraini Shias at the hands of government.
