Thousands bury Grand Marje Al-Kaukabi amid rolling tears

HOLY CITY OF QOM, Iran: Marje’ Shiayan-e-Jehan Grand Ayatullah Sayid Abu`l Qassem Al-Kaukabi was laid to rest on Wednesday December 21 in the holy city of Qom according to his will amid rolling tears and sobs.

His funeral prayer, attended by thousands of mourners, was led by Grand Ayatullah, Head of Hauzah Ilmiyah Qom, Soltan-ol Foqaha Sheikh Mirza Jawwad At-Tabrezi.

Grand Maraje, scholarly personalities, students from Hauzah, pilgrims, followers and mo’minin participated in the funeral in a large number.

Representative Organization of Maktab-e-Tashayo Pakistan Tehrik Nefaz-i-Fiqa-i-Jafariya’s representative delegation, headed by Hojjat-ol Islam Val Muslimin Aqai Sayid Mohsin Hosaini, attended the funeral.

Late Grand Ayatullah Al-Kaukabi’s son extended his hearty thanks to the TNFJ delegation and appreciated its peaceful and unity-promoting policy. He also prayed for development of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and safety of its people.

Hauzah Ilmiyah and bazaars were shut to mourn the late Grand Ayatullah. Sheikh-ol Foqaha has declared the mourning. Grand Maraje and the bereaved family are receiving abundant of condolence messages by hand, telephone, emails and post.

Grand Ayat Al-Kaukabi dies; Moosavi pays to him tributes

RAWALPINDI, 20 December: Marje` Shiyan-e-Jehan Hazrat Grand Ayatullah Aqai Sayed Abul Qassem Al-Kaukabi has expired in the holy city of Qom, Iran.He served as a teacher in the Hauzah Ilmiyah Najaf-e-Ashraf for a long period. Later, he came to Iran on the desire of founder of Islamic revolution Hazrat Grand Ayatullah Sayed Ruhullah Al-Khomeini due to his deep devotion for him. He was one of the most expert and skilled teachers of Ilm-i-Usool (jurisprudence) and Fiqh.
