Norwegian goods boycott causes fury in Israelis

By: Anjum Kermani

OSLO, Norway: A Norwegian region’s decision to boycott Israeli goods has angered a leading Paris-based Zionist organization.

The group, Simon Wiesenthal, attacked the decision as displaying "racism" and "anti-Semitism" "in the spirit of Hitler".

Earlier this month, the authorities in the Soer-Troendelag region in western Norway voted to boycott Israeli goods as a protest against the construction of the colonial separation barrier in the occupied Palestine.

Talking to newsmen, a left wing local politician Geir Jarle Siraas said: "In the past (we) decided to boycott South Africa to protest against the Apartheid regime."

"We want to mark our distancing of ourselves from Israeli policy today in the same way."

Simon Wiesenthal demanded that Norway "go beyond its current 'denial of responsibility for the acts of a local council'.

There was no immediate comment from the Norwegian government.

"Knowledge is better than wealth because it protects you while you have to guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE ..
