Hussain (p) preferred death in honor over life in disgrace, Moosavi

By: Salman Alvi

RAWALPINDI: In a special message issued on the beginning of Muharramul Haram, Chief of the Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi has said that Islam is the eternal message of friendship, peace, tranquillity and solidarity and all Representatives of Allah from Adam (A.S.) to Khatam (SAW) had been preaching justice and fair-play, and getting the creature of Allah rid of oppression and brutality.

For this purpose, he said, they used the enforcing force of Amar Bil Ma’aroof and Nahi Anil Munker and always avoided war and conflict.

Agha Moosavi said that the Islamic calendar begins with the month of Muharram that is one of the four months with regard to respect and dignity during which war, and conflict is prohibited. He said the life span of the Holy Prophet spread over 53 years in Makkah and 10 years in Madinah stands witness that he always avoided war and never stepped up in it first. He was pushed into 104 wars but he adopted the defensive strategy that proves that Islam is the religion of love and devotion and not of killings.

He said Companions of Rasool (R.A.) and Ahle Bait (A.S.) also followed the defensive strategy, one of them was the pious personality of Hussain ibne Ali (A.S.). When oath of allegiance was sought from the Imam Aali Muqam (A.S.), he declared in clear-cut terms that a person like us cannot perform Bay’at (oath of allegiance) of persons like Yazid.

The TNFJ chief said that Imam Hussain (A.S.) avoiding war and conflict migrated from Madinah to Makkah and changed Haj into Umrah so as to save the humanity and dignity of pious cities. So much so Umar Sa’ad making Allah his witness threw the first arrow on Hussaini army. Thus Nawasa-e-Rasool Hussain ibne Ali (A.S.) preferred death in honour over life in disgrace refusing Bay’at to Yazid and by kissing martyrdom made it clear on the world that Momin (believer) and Muslim seeks honour for all, likes to live in honour. Therefore, he said, it proved that exercising Amar Bil Ma’aroof and Nahi Anil Munker disseminating good and stopping from evil is obligatory.

The Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Hamid Moosavi expressed his concern that the Islamic World and the oppressed people were targeted of terrorism after the 9/11. He made it clear that Muslim is the one from whom other Muslims remain protected while Momin is the one who is considered Ameen (trust worthy) by the people for their life, wealth and blood.

Therefore, he said, wherever the terrorism is being sponsored they are Satanic agents and their target is to defame Islam and Muslims. In these circumstances, he said, the oppressed people and the Muslim Ummah is under the obligation not only to announce their hatred against terrorism and terrorists but also utilise all their energies to root it out.

He made a fervent appeal to the President of Pakistan to get strict implementation of Anti-Terrorism Act and do not make any relaxations in this connection. Terming the proposal made by Saudi Amir Abdullah at the International Riyadh Conference on Terrorism to set up Anti-Terrorism Centre good stressing the need to implement the same. For this purpose, he said, there is need to make the words and deeds coherent. Therefore, we all are under the obligation to condemn bias and aggression and raise Kalma-e-Haq even on the point of spear following in the footsteps of Syed-ush-Shuhada Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.).

"Knowledge is better than wealth because it protects you while you have to guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."
