Canada grand majales pay homage to Chief of Martyrs

TORONTO, Canada: With the emergence of the month of Moharram Al-Heram - the month of grief and moans, Mosibah of Prophet Muhammad (p)’s progeny (p) and the martyrdom of Abi Al-Ahrar Sayyidosh Shohada Al-Imam Al-Hossein (p) -, none of the world part is spared of Hosseini mourning.

Marking the occasion, mourning programs which consist of majales, matam, latmiyat, chest beating, dirge-chanting are held at mosques, hosseiniyaat, imambargahs and Islamic centers of Canada under the arrangements of various organizations.

Al-Imam Al-Khoei Foundation Montreal holds a series of Majales Al-Azaa in Arabic addressed by renowned speakers.

Fayaz Hossein from the holy city of Qom Iran addresses daily majales al-aza at Ja’fari Islamic Center Toronto at 08:00 pm (EST). Large number of people attends to pay homage to the Chief of Martyrs Abi Al-Ahrar Al-Imam Al-Hossein (p).

At Al Mehdi Center Toronto, Maulana Ghulam Abbas Raeesi delivers daily speech (Moharram 01-12, Feb 10-21) while Maulana Ali Ibrahim delivers speech in English (Moharram 01-09, Feb 10-19) highlighting the matchless sacrifices of Al-Imam Al-Hossein (p) which granted Islam eternal life.

Majales al-aza at the center will continue till the end of mourning periods (8 Rabi-ol Avval). Different speakers will address majalis according to this schedule: Maulana Abbas Ayeliya (Moharrm 13-20, Feb 22-01), Maulana Abbas Abidi (Moharram 21-30, Mar 02-11), Maulana Ghulam Hur Shabbiri (Safar 01-10, Mar 12-21), Maulana Syed Mohammed Askari (Safar 11-20, Mar 22-31) and Maulana Sadiq Hasan (Safar 21-29, Apr 01-09).
