Remembrance of Hussain (a.s.) revival of Islam: Ayat Tabrezi By: Sheikh Muhammad Khurasani HOLY CITY OF QOM, Iran: Ayatullah Mirza Jawwad At-Tabrezi quoting Quranic verse ‘he who respects She’a’er Allah (Signs of Allah), then it is of the piety of hearts’ has said revival of commemoration of Seyyed-osh Shohada Hazret-e-Imam Hosayn (a.s.) is the greatest of all divine she’a’er. In a special message marking the month of Muharram, Ayatullah At-Tabrezi who resides in the holy city of Qom, said that the objective, for which achievement Hazret-e-Imam Hosayn (a.s.) struggled on Ashoura Day, was uttered by him “certainly I have come out to correct the ummah of my grandfather, I want to enjoin good and forbid evil”. Therefore, revival of remembrance of Hussain (a.s.) is in fact revival of religion (Islam) and the divine targets for which Hazret-e-Imam Hosayn (a.s.) stood. He said it has been a practice of followers of Ahlol Bayt (a.s.) since the murder of Hazret-e-Imam Hosayn (a.s.) to-date to weep, moan, wear black dresses, pound chests, hold matam and majales specified for men, and matam specified for women. All these are of legally preferred affairs as a number of traditions from infallible imams from the progeny of holy Prophet (s.w.) urges for holding these majales. It is reported from Hazret-e-Imam Baqer (a.s.): “I love these mourning sittings, so revive our remembrance. He who holds majlis, revives our remembrance therein, his heart will not die on the day when hearts will die.” Ayatullah At-Tabrezi said what needed is that all mo’mineen should make arrangements to display grief during Ashoura days and hold mourning rites on the sufferings of the progeny of holy Prophet Hazret-e-Muhammad (s.w.). He said it is unlawful to use pulpits and majalis for political and worldly objectives. The message concluded with prayer that may Allah give all believers ability to commemorate the great sacrifices of Ahlol Bayt (a.s.). END |
