Wa Husseinah… Husseini commemoration touches climax in Iraq

HOLY KARBALA, Iraq: Mourning programs marking the great sacrifices of Chief of Martyrs and Head of the Youths of Paradise Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) along with his 72 faithful companions for elevation of truth are on climax in the holy city of Karbala besides other cities with due fervor and reverence.

The holy city that hosts the holy mausoleums of two brothers Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) and commander of his army Abou Al-Fazl Al-Abbas (p) witnesses day-by-day increase in Majales and Mawakeb Al-Azaa, or the mourning sittings and processions.

Processions attended by flocks of mourners are taken out under the arrangements of different organizations in mourning, noon and evening. The mourners while chanting Ya Hussein pound their chests and heads in mourning.

Reaching at the holy shrines of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (p) and Al-Abbas (p) after touching through the streets of the holy city, the processions culminate.

Majales Al-Azaa are held at the shrines as well as husseiniyat and other centers where speakers highlight the tragedy of Karbala.
