Shah asks all channels to stop entertainment programs, thanks govt on CR set up

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan : Syed Mazhar Ali Shah Advocate, Central Secretary General of Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan has said that all TV channels and Cables, keeping the solemnity of Muharramul Haram in view, should stop entertainment programmes and instead highlight the achievements of holy Prophet (SAW)’s grandson Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) and 72 martyrs of Karbala.

He stated this while addressing the office-bearers of TNFJ Provincial Council Punjab at a special meeting held at TNFJ headquarters here on Tuesday.

The Punjab Council office-bearers while declaring the formation of Muharram Azadari Control Room by the Federal Government at Ministry of Interior expressed concern that the Provincial Government has not yet formed such a Cell and if has formed then has not yet publicised the same that has sent a wave of concern amongst the Azadaran.

They said that Police Administration is harassing the Matmi Azadaran in some districts creating problems. They expressed their concern that Muharramul Haram is a holy month but different channels and more than one and a half dozen cables were still telecasting entertainment and indecent programmes trampling the dignity of Muharramul Haram.

Syed Mazhar Ali Shah said that we are thankful to the Federal Government for setting up Muharram Control Room at the Ministry of Interior keeping to past tradition. The Phone Nos. of that Control Room are: 9211223, 9211224 and Fax No. is 9211225 that are operative round the clock.

He said we are also in contact with the provinces in this connection. He appealed the President of Pakistan to take notice of such channels while the Information Minister Shaikh Rashid Ahmed, who is a nice man, should interfere forthwith to maintain the dignity of Muharram by stopping all such programmes that may desecrate the religion and the motherland.

Mazhar Ali Shah said that the month of Muharramul Haram is commensurate with Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his sincere companions, therefore, their deeds should be highlighted during these days so that our future generations could become secure as the Karbala has preached only fear from Allah. He said the international Taghoot was creating fear and harassment which can only be removed through Karbala.
